Winter break is certainly long enough to do productive things like organizing rooms, going for bike rides and making New Years Resolutions... sure... but have you ever tried binge watching entire seasons of some of your favorite shows? This is how I said I'd spend the first two weeks of my break, catching up with shows I didn't have time to see during school. So I invested my break time in new shows, old shows, and just catching up on the media binge I so badly wanted the week of final exams.

Now that the two weeks are up, here are a few of the shows I watched and really enjoyed:

1. The End of the F***ing World - Netflix

This show is like like Heathers meets Wes Anderson and it had a kid with Gia Coppola. The End of the F***ing World is a British dark comedy that follows James (a self diagnosed psychopath) and Alyssa (a ticking time bomb looking for the attention she needs). James tags along with Alyssa's idea to run away, believing that getting her to trust him would make it easy to kill her. They embark on a roadtrip to get out of their bleak town and land into some trouble along the way. I honestly thought this show would be overdone, basic and uninteresting, but I'm so glad it was anything but that. This show was so good and suited my craving for a fresh show with teen drama, romance, crime, action and murder mystery all in one. Although, beware... this show is not for the faint of heart (TV-MA).

2. The Good Place - Hulu (NBC)

Did someone say the afterlife, humor, philosophy and plot twists? The Good Place is a show that follows Eleanor (Kristen Bell) through her time in the afterlife, also know as 'The Good Place'. She soon realizes she's there by mistake and goes through trials of moral philosophy. This show allows us some insight into some major conflicts humans have, such as indecisiveness, jealousy, doing 'good' things for the sake of attention and selfishness. I didn't know a comedy show could teach important lessons, but this show has definitely taught me a thing or two. (TV-14)

3. Downton Abbey - Amazon

I mean, wow, have I mentioned I love drama? Cause I don't... but for some reason I just can't keep away from it. DownTON (not downTOWN) Abbey is a British drama that surrounds the lives of the Crawley family. The series begins in the year 1912 and has become one of the most lovable period dramas ever made. Although it is purely a drama, the addition of history makes it more bearable. This show will make you fall in love, break your heart and pull your heart around on a string, so much so that you can't stop watching. (TV-14)

The list might grow over the moth of January, but so far these have been my top 3. I am also open to new show reccomendations, so feel free to leave comments and recs below!
